Data Science Architect

Due to tremendous growth, Eccella US is hiring an experienced professional for a full time Data Science Architect role.  You will play a key role in designing and implementing analytical solutions based on customer business needs.


  • Ability to assess a business process and available systems and applications which would lend themselves to benefit from machine learning - be it predicting manufacturing failures to customer segmentation to preventing the spread of infectious disease. 
  • Work with existing clients, assess the appropriate approaches and algorithms and lead a team to design and implement a relevant statistical model and enterprise grade platform to load and execute the model providing continuous critical insight.
  • Develop “Proof of Concepts” that demonstrate the business value and work with the client to evolve them into project engagements.
  • Support pre-sales activities, business development and sales


  • Strong technical acumen in statistics and machine learning for the enterprise
  • Understanding business challenges and designing analytical solutions to address them
  • Ability to architect and deliver highly available, robust and performant big data analytical solutions
  • Experience across supervised and unsupervised learning, discriminative vs generative models, latent variables, dimensionality reduction, and naive bayes
  • Hands on development in big data platforms including ingesting data onto Hadoop/Spark, leveraging the AWS/EMR infrastructure, as well as techniques for data preparation and acumen building statistical models and machine learning algorithms leveraging R/Python.
  • Proficient in SQL and collecting data from relational systems
  • Working knowledge of at least one NoSQL data store (Casandra, MarkLogic, MongoDB)
  • Experience in accessing external data to improve analytical models
  • Ability to use visualization tools to deliver model results and tell the story
  • Strong ability to lead, grow and support data science team within the organization
  • Excellent communication skills, along with client-facing experience


  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or Statistics is required
  • 5+ years of work experience, preferably in a consulting role
  • 3+ years of working on Data Science projects
  • 2+ years of working with data and preparing it for analysis and mode development
